“My name is Csaba Ciraki. I was born in Budapest, Hungary. Being fortunate enough in my life to live in different countries (Hungary, Algeria, France, Czech Republic and now in the UK) with different cultures, I am now able to use these skills to engage with my customers fully.
For me, being part of Sekisui Diagnostics as a Sales Area Manager is as much a privilege as a joy. What I enjoy most in my work is being responsible for a large and culturally diverse geographical area and the daily work with my like-minded colleagues in the Commercial group. The team here is made up of highly qualified professionals who are both helpful and a pleasure to work with. There are always things to learn and grow as an individual which makes for a very rewarding experience.“

“As a Senior Scientist in the R&D group at Sekisui Diagnostics at the West Malling Research Centre in Kent, I am faced each day with a new set of stimulating challenges.
Being responsible for a team with three other scientists provides an inspiring environment to work in; we also have a student from the University of Kent working in the team as part of their industrial placement year.
Currently we are focused on establishing the best path for generating new recombinant products in terms of establishing suitable expression systems and throughput methods for clone selection.
Things certainly do not always go as expected but the fun is to try and understand why and to come up with a solution.
A key aspect to my role is to communicate directly with customers and this is crucial to getting the design right when working on development products.“
Paul Bennett – Senior Scientist
I had always opted to take part in an industrial placement year as part of my Biomedical science degree. Working at Sekisui has enabled me to transfer the knowledge that I had learnt from my lectures into a laboratory environment and challenge my practical skills with the encouragement of other R&D scientists.
I have had the opportunity to work on two projects during my time here, both aiming to improve existing Sekisui products. I have also recently been given the responsibility of my own “mini project”. Taking ownership of my work and planning experiments has been challenging since this was a new area of research for the company, yet very rewarding!
The skills that I have learnt as a result of the guidance and support received from the R&D team are endless. These skills will certainly be carried through to my future career as a research scientist.
